I am a qualified teacher and have a degree in textile design and I am now running classes from my own studio in Farnborough, Hampshire. We will be re-opening the studio for workshops soon. Online Zoom Workshops Although it is great to meet in real life, through Zoom we can connect with so many more people and run online workshops. Teaching and presenting talks on Zoom is becoming the new normal these days and if you have not joined in yet then do not be scared to give it a go. If you can download an app, click a link in an email and turn on your camera phone you have all the technical skills you need! I have been very pleased and relieved to find myself feeling so connected to the people on my Zoom workshops, I can see what everyone is up to and easily step in to help where needed. Free-Motion Stitching and Drawing with your Sewing Machine 90 Minute Online Zoom Workshop This is my favourite technique and a really important part of how I achieve my appliqué and quilting style. Through a series of fun exercises and demos, I will teach you tips and tricks to enable you to confidently create your own thread sketches. Honestly, no real-life drawing skills are required! 1 Day Workshop - Free-Motion Stitching and Fusible Appliqué In this fun workshop I will give you an introduction to fusible appliqué free-motion stitching with your sewing machine. These are my favourite techniques and a really important part of how I achieve my quilting style. Honestly, no real life drawing skills are required. I will be right there to help you design, draw any templates required and guide you to create your very own unique projects. I look forward to meeting and creating with you! 1 Day Workshop - Quilted memories to cherish During our day together, I will tell you the inspiration behind my work and share some of the stories that inspired my memory quilt. You will learn how I layer techniques such as fusible applique, free-motion stitching, hand quilting, embroidery and quilt-as-you-go and begin to create unique pieces inspired by your favourite sayings, stories, animals, birds, holiday, song or other memories!
